What are functional skills?

Functional skills are a set of qualifications that are offered at schools, colleges and at workplaces in England.
Everyone needs functional skills to do well in life, they are the skills you need for learning, working and to be confident.

There are a number of different awarding bodies (also known as exam boards).  Your teacher should be able to tell you which one your functional skills will be awarded by.  Look on the awarding body website and you may find past papers or sample papers.  Most of these have notes for teachers.

Practice tests and past papers may be useful as part of your revision.  The most appropriate ones will be those produced by your awarding body, but others may be useful to improve your general knowledge.  This page aims to contain some convenient links.
