When studying for Functional Skills you should ask your college, school or training provider what software you will be expected to use on their computers.  They may have particular software installed which they will wish you to use.

However, this is our own list of software which you may also like to try. All of the software is free to download and use, and you may find it useful especially if you are to study ICT Functional Skills.  We also have short course about this Useful Software for which you will need to register.

  • OpenOffice
    A free alternative to other office software suite - it includes a:
    word processor - OpenOffice Writer
    spreadsheet - OpenOffice Calc
    database - OpenOffice Base
    and more.

    Free software which allows you to create and edit image.

    Free AntiVirus software for the PC.
